Integrated or component
A 3-in-1 system (camera + LED light source + monitor in one body) saves space and cabling: switch it on and work — the choice of consulting rooms. Component setups with a separate camera head, powerful light source and large monitor give the OR flexibility: each element upgrades independently.
What to check in the specification
- •Resolution. Full HD (1920×1080) is the current diagnostic standard; SD remains a budget option for basic rooms
- •Light source. LED gives stable color temperature and tens of thousands of hours — halogen is obsolete
- •Compatibility. A standard 32 mm eyepiece clamp works with rigid and flexible scopes alike
- •Documentation. Photo and video capture to USB or the patient record turns findings into evidence
