X-ray bone densitometer DS.Densi MAXI

A wide range of examinations — from traumatology to endocrinology

The flagship of the DS.Densi line. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) with a fan beam — the gold standard of osteoporosis diagnostics: bone mineral density in standard regions plus whole-body composition analysis of fat, muscle and bone tissue.

  • Analytical whole-body scanning function
  • Lateral spine projection with vertebral height measurement — detects compression fractures
  • FRAX program: individual 10-year fracture risk
  • WHO BMI obesity classification, region-of-interest analysis
  • Maximum table load 260 kg

Who this model is for

Large hospitals, diagnostic centers and endocrinology departments that need maximum functionality: body composition analysis, lateral spine projection and FRAX. Beyond osteodensitometry, DS.Densi MAXI covers diagnostics of sarcopenia, internal-organ fibrosis and metabolic syndrome.

About DS.Densi MAXI

DS.Densi MAXI works on the principle of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) with a fan beam — the recognized gold standard for diagnosing osteoporosis. The unit measures bone mineral density (BMD) in the standard regions — the lumbar spine, proximal femur and forearm — and additionally performs a compositional analysis of the whole body, determining the ratio of fat, muscle and bone tissue with region-of-interest selection.

A distinctive capability of the MAXI is lateral-projection scanning of the lumbar spine with measurement of vertebral heights and intervertebral spaces. This is critical for detecting compression fractures, which often go unnoticed in the standard anteroposterior projection. The table withstands up to 260 kg, so patients with severe obesity can be examined, and the built-in FRAX program calculates each patient’s individual ten-year risk of osteoporotic fractures from clinical factors.

For a clinic, DS.Densi MAXI is more than osteodensitometry: the whole-body scanning function extends the service line to diagnostics of sarcopenia, internal-organ fibrosis and metabolic syndrome. Russian production means valid regulatory registration, no logistics risks, and fast access to original spare parts and service engineers.

Key advantages

Compositional analysis of fat, muscle and bone tissue with a comprehensive report
02
Lateral spine projection
Detects vertebral compression fractures missed in the AP view
03
FRAX built in
Individual 10-year osteoporotic fracture risk from clinical factors
04
Ultra-low radiation dose
Safe examinations with high patient throughput

Frequently asked questions

Why is DEXA considered the gold standard of osteoporosis diagnostics?
Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry detects changes in bone mineral density with about 2% precision — long before clinical symptoms appear, whereas conventional radiography reveals osteoporosis only after 25–30% of bone mass is already lost.
Which patients can be examined on DS.Densi MAXI?
The table load capacity of 260 kg allows examinations of patients with severe obesity. Standard indications include postmenopausal women, men over 50, patients on glucocorticosteroids and anyone with a history of low-energy fractures.
What does the clinic need to install the unit?
A standard X-ray room and a physician workstation (supplied with the unit). DS.Med service engineers perform installation, commissioning and staff training on site.
Is DS.Densi MAXI suitable for public procurement?
Yes. The unit holds valid regulatory registration, and DS.Med prepares the full documentation package — technical specifications and registration certificates — to support tenders.
